Cards made 2016

wish you were here hedgehog
One of my favourite stamps from Penny Black, which I have owned for about 16 years, always makes the perfect card. I stamped on white card stock with black ink and embossed with clear embossing powder. I coloured with watercolour pencils, fussy cut and shaped then stuck to the card with foam tape. A gold sentiment stickers are then added to finish off.

Love Card Making magazine issue 13

Hibiscus fun white
Card 1.     The magazine has free embossing folders, stamps and dies.
Hibiscus fun Colour
Card 2.    The 2 cards are both made from the bonus sets called Tropical Blooms.

I dry embossed Card 1, with the embossing folder from Tropical Blooms on to white card.  On another piece of white card I coloured it with Tim Holtz distress inks using Broken China, Chipped Sapphire, Mermaid Lagoon and Faded Jeans.  I’ve got a few different stamps of Hibiscus flowers from Stamp It , and stamped them using Pickled Raspberry and Spiced Marmalade. I embossed the newly coloured card with the embossing folder and coloured the raised parts with Faber Castell Big White Pen. I had some of the coloured card left over from Card 2, I die cut the flower shapes out of it and stuck them, over the flowers on the embossed white card, with foam tape. The next step was to use some stick on gems from Kaiser Craft Rhinestones in Lime Green. Framed each card with a fresh hint of blue for Card 2. and purple for Card 1. Loved how these cards turned out. Oh yes with Card 1. I coloured over the coloured leaves and flowers with Zig Wink of Stella clear brush pen, adds a slight hint of glitter, pretty!  These cards are made similarly but have 2 completely different looks. Same Same but Different!

I love all the tropical flowers, hibiscus being very high on my list, and this Tropical Blooms pack is a great bonus from the Love Card Making magazine, sold in all good News Agencies.

Summer Take a Break

Another insert from Cards made in 2016.

Summer Take a break

I used the Elizabeth Craft stickers in black called Maritime, and put on to glitter foil then on to acetate. I coloured with the Sakura Glace pens. I cut out the glitter foil from around the net and cables of the boat so it remained clear.  I found this lovely page from Kaiser Crafts Sandy Toes collection in the small 61/2″ x 61/2″ pad called Hello Summer.  Perfect for this little boat and helps to make the most serene scene.
